BYBA strives for exemplary coaching, and may suspend or remove any coach who is not acting in the best interest of the players and the Town of Belmont. BYBA may approve and implement disciplinary action against any Belmont player, coach, referee or parent who is found to be in significant violation of the spirit of sportsmanship and can include, in severe cases, suspension of the offender for some or all of the remainder of the current season. Formation of In Town Teams – BYBA is dedicated to form teams such that the overall talent is spread equally among all teams within the recreational leagues. It is believed that if each team has comparable skills, the program will be better able to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of participants. Travel Team Program - Program is designed for kids that are looking to learn and compete in a more challenging environment. The objective for travel teams is to teach the kids the game of basketball with a much more organized practice structure and then work to apply that instruction during the competitive game setting. The best players will be selected based on selections by the team’s coach and may include input from a review committee. Participation in the "In-Town" game on Saturday is a requirement for playing in the travel games that weekend and this rule should be followed by players and coaches. Commitment to the team by attending practices is also a requirement. |
