BYBA IN-TOWN BASKETBALL REGISTRATION OPENS AUGUST 12th!!!

Belmont Youth Basketball Association (BYBA) is gearing up for another season of youth basketball for all students who live or attend school in Belmont in grades 2 through 8! Registration opens on August 12th.

The Rookies Program is an 8-week developmental basketball program for 2^nd graders. Each week a Coach will lead a 1 hour and 15 minute session which will include skills and games. Adult parent volunteers are needed to assist the coaches with each session. This program is limited so please be sure to register children participants and parent volunteers as soon as possible.

BYBA’s In-town program is open to 3^rd through 8^th grade players of all skill levels. If you are new to the game or have played since you could walk, this program is for you! We strive to form balanced teams such that the overall talents are spread equally among all teams. Equal playing time for all players is assured by dividing games into 5-minute periods and by each coach’s use of a predetermined rotation schedule. 

Please note:  If you have already registered for our Travel Program, you are automatically registered for the in-town program. 

Parent and High School volunteer coaches are needed for our in-town program. The 3^rd/4^th grade division will be coached solely by parents, while the 5^th/6^th and 7^th/8^th grade division will be coached only by HS students.

BHS students may also apply to become a Referee in the program. Referees are paid and will be assigned 1-3 games each Saturday. Students should apply only if they can maintain this commitment.

Registration for Belmont Travel Basketball 2019-2020 season is open!

• Registration is open and runs through June 16^th

• Late (Wait List) Registration start June 17th and includes a late fee of $50

The BYBA Travel Program runs from the first week in November until mid-March for players in grades 4 through 8.  Travel Basketball is for players who are seeking a higher level of commitment and competition, playing in a competitive league against teams from other towns.  Travel teams generally have 1.5 to 3 hours of practice per week with 1 to 2 games on the weekends.

For players who cannot fully commit to the travel program and will have competing priorities over the winter should register for our In-town program.  Registration for players who only wish to participate in our in-town program will open on August 15th.  Travel players are automatically enrolled in our in-town program.

Try-outs will take place in late September/early October.  Players who do not make a Travel Team will play solely in our in-town program.
